When I read the author's introduction, I was hooked! "Poetic rhythm is the heart of one's words being a voice for one's view of reality....encouraging words wrapped in the fabric of loose and vibrant spoken words." Loc. 10. The images from nature and from his inner self are heart-warming and sometimes mind-stirring. After each poem he adds a little "homily" or meditation tied into Biblical themes. All this makes it an accessible, thoughtful book. But the rhyme and rhythm were sometimes ragged. I'd advice the author to make it entirely free verse, as actually he does many times. That's why a doggerel rhyme is jarring, such as below:The name that I love to hear
I sing its melody in my ear
With this name there is no fear....
In spite of such instances, I'd recommend this book for its meditative and personal quality.
